About MaryJo for Miami Springs

Our mission is to uplift and support our local community through various initiatives. We believe in fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all residents. 

• Collaborate with Miami-Dade government to obtain the bed tax on NW 36 St. 
• Foster small businesses and economic development on NW 36 St and Abraham Track. 
• Safeguard our valuable tree canopy. 
• Support the Adult Community Center. 
• Preserve and celebrate our unique history with the 2026 Centennial Celebration. 

MaryJo has been actively involved with Miami Springs organizations and is an integral committee member and planner of the 2026 Centennial Celebration, as well as a long time active member of the Miami Springs Women’s Club.  She cares deeply about Miami Springs safety, preservation, and economic growth. 

MaryJo Mejia-Ramos was raised in Aventura. She has been a longtime resident of Miami Springs for the past 15 years working with several neighborhood associations and committed to the preservation of the city’s history, culture, and nature. After 35 years of dedication to the University of Miami’s Jackson Health System, she is now retired and working tirelessly for the city she calls “home”. MaryJo is a proud alumni from the University of Miami where she received her Bachelors (2003) and Masters (2011).
